Robert J. Thornton

Robert J. Thornton was born on September 12, 1922, in Rye, New York, his father, Royal, was 36 and his mother, Ellen, was 31.

He had two brothers Charles and Roy and three sisters. In Rye his family lived at 15 Everett St. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.

Robert was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1940. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during World War II.

He served during WW II and the Korean conflict in the US Air Force

Robert worked for Prudential Life Ins in Germany for 20 years. Born in Rye NY he had been a resident of Ft Pierce, FL for 20 years coming from Germany. Prior to retirement he was with the Security Office for Bell South for 7 years

Robert James Thornton 78 passed away on May 31 2001 at his residence in Ft Pierce FL.

Survivors included his son Roy L Thornton of Portland OR a daughter Angelina Roth of Germany and sisters Doris Brennan of Orlando FL and Madeline Badaloto of Rye NY ' He also had five grandchildren He was predeceased by his brothers Roy Thornton of CT and Charles Thornton of Vero Beach FL
